Python Swallows Sutton Tools Promotional Golf Balls
A Coastal Carpet Python is recovering at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Hospital after swallowing two Sutton Tools promotional golf balls.
The snake, nicknamed Callaway, stole the golf balls and two eggs from underneath a nesting chicken at Kyogle, NSW.
Currumbin vet Andrew Hill said some people put balls in nests to trick their chickens into thinking their eggs had not been taken. He said it’s not the first time a snake had been tricked too.
The snake was taken to the hospital on Sunday and operated on Wednesday. Mr Hill said the 1.5m Python should be released back into the wild in a few weeks.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Hospital is a non-profit organization. It receives 6500 animals per year and receives no government funding for its ongoing operation.
The hospital will be auctioning the 2 Sutton Tools golf balls on eBay to try and raise fund. Sutton Tools will sponsor a 25pce Viper Drill set valued $150 to the hospital for their auction.
