World class cutting tool manufacturer Sutton Tools has released Supabit Extreme Impact bits, certified heavy hitters specifically developed for use with the high-torque output of an impact driver.

Traditional bits often struggle to cope with the huge rotational torque produced by impact drivers, either breaking off or stripping fastener heads. Sutton Tools’ release of Supabit Extreme Impact bits range eliminates those issues.

All Sutton Tools impact and screwdriver bits are made from premium high-alloy steel, precision-finished and torque tested, which is integral to their performance and strength.

Sutton Tools voluntarily subscribes to DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) testing – which is the global benchmark for quality control in manufacturing – to ensure their bits meet the strength, precision and quality requirements of tradies. All Sutton bits are torque tested and proven to exceed DIN global performance standards by up to 330%.

The reason many bits are unsuitable for use in impact drivers is due to a combination of inferior materials, hardness and finish meaning they cannot withstand the driving force of an impact driver. With so much torque being transferred, if the material isn’t tough there are going to be issues.

Sutton Tools Supabit Extreme impact bits include a torsion neck zone, designed to disperse torsional stress and reduce wear of the screwdriver bit. Selected Phillips bits in the Impact range also include aerospace-developed ACR (anti cam-out rib system) technology. ACR uses special wing-face ribs which grip the recess of the screw head, preventing cam-out and enabling off-angle driving and stripped-head removal. This technology was originally developed for the aerospace industry.

Further adding to the feature’s list, all Sutton Tools Supabit Extreme Impact bits are magnetised, eliminating frustration and increasing productivity when working at awkward angles or in tight spaces.
